Flood Appeal

Home / Flood Appeal

  • At least 5 million people have been affected by the floods in Bangladesh and the situation is deteriorating on a daily basis. nearly 500,000 people are taking shelter in emergency. We have never seen such a terrible flood in Bangladesh greater Sylhet in the 100 years. The whole town is inundated. There is no place left for people to take refuge, a shelter is now more important than aid.
  • Dangerously high river levels have forced thousands of people from their homes. River levels are forecast to continue rising over the next few days. Many families are living under the open sky and there are shortages of clean water, food and medicine. We are distributing food in the most affected sites in Bangladesh.
  • Many houses were destroyed or damaged. The affected populations are mainly in need of food, water and emergency shelter.
